If you go to acpgroup.ie you will find - repair works to wrought iron gates and railings, Castleconnell Church. The inscription to north-west gate pier reads - "This railing is the gift of George Peabody". The railings have been beautifully restored outside St. Joseph's Church and there is a photograph of them. It was mentioned on the website that the railings are good for another 150 years!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6561249004966522983.post-24718737247745776802017-10-28T19:48:21.847+01:002017-10-28T19:48:21.847+01:00Canon, many thanks for the great article and magni...Canon, many thanks for the great article and magnificent photography, as usual. I was disappointed for you that you did not get to see the railings so I googled them and found - acpgroup.ie - repair works to wrought iron gates and railings. They are at St. Joseph's church and the inscription to northwest gate reads "this railing is the gift of George Peabody. You were probably looking for a very old railing but Architectural Conservation Professionals were commissioned to restore said railings. They show a photo of the railings. They appear to have done a very nice job on them.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08712143759791992876noreply@blogger.com
