Spending three or four days
in the heart of Lisbon

The Hotel Real Palácio is set in the vibrant heart of Lisbon City

I arrived in Lisbon this morning [4 November 2014] and I am staying in the Portuguese capital for most of the week.

This is my first time ever to visit Lisbon, or even to visit Portugal, and I am staying in the Real Palácio, in the heart of the centre of the city.

The hotel occupies two buildings on the Rua Tomás Ribeiro, and takes its name from one of them, which served as a palace from the 17th century. The main building is a modern building, filled with reproduction furniture. But the old palace seems to ooze charm with its small patio, archways and tiled stairwells.

The Hotel Real Palácio is set in the vibrant heart of Lisbon City and close to Parque Eduardo VII, on the north side of the Liberty Avenue, Lisbon’s grand avenue, and right behind the Pombal Marquis Square.

There are three Metro stations within short walking distance of the hotel, so I hope I can explore much of the city between now and Friday.
