New academic year begins at CITI

The ‘Church of Ireland Notes’ in ‘The Irish Times’ today [13 September 2014] and on the Church of Ireland website include the following:

A new academic year begins at the Church of Ireland Theological Institute this weekend with a residential introductory weekend for new and part-time students. In all, 56 part-time and full-time students are enrolled in CITI for the coming year, including 16 new students.

The weekend programme includes lecturers by Dr David Shepherd, Assistant Professor of Hebrew Bible, Trinity College Dublin (“Faith Scripture and the Cinema”), Revd Dr Maurice Elliott (“Learning for Ministry”), Dr Katie Hefflefinger (“the Catholic Epistles”), Canon Patrick Comerford (“Academic Writing Skills” and “Community Living”) and Revd Dr Patrick McGlinchey (“Missiology”).

The students are visiting the Library in TCD, the Representative Church Body (RCB) Library, and meeting the staff of the School of Religions in TCD.
